House of Holland A/W 2010/2011

Today at Bloomsbury Ballrooms one of fashion's guiltiest pleasures, House of Holland presented the A/W 2010/11 collection, which failed to disappoint. With an abundance of paisley bandana prints and chunky gold chains Henry Holland continued to stretch the boundaries of taste to the limits!...

Highlights: Massive gold hoops with weaved shredded bandana. love!

Temperley London's all Black show

So I was looking on style.com for the latest from New York Fashion week, and noticed that Alice Temperley had used an all black model casting for her collection. After I had been filled with an initial thrill, I started to get a bit sceptical. Does Temperley have a genuine support for the ethnic minority model, or was she just using these shock tactics to get attention and maybe a bit of popularity?

Last Season, Nathan Jenden had a full casting of Black and Asian models.

It was the first I had seen of this kind, and I found it very exciting, what a great way to make a statement. It increased my respect for Nathan Jenden, a respect that was already there, due to Jenden's consistent use of ethnic minorities in his shows.

So by Temperley doing the same 5 months later, is she just jumping on the bandwagon, or does she have a real concern?

Well after looking more closely I noticed that her entire collection uses just one model, Kinee Diouf.

So now I'm wondering, was it just the case of a tight budget? If she couldn't afford more than one model then that is a lot less impressive.
But the more important question is how did the show even work? I know models are used to quick changes, but come on. Unless this Kinee Diouf is Superwoman, or alternately has a Bernard's watch, then I really can't work out how it was done. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know
