Sinead's Homemade Christmas

Forget Kirstie, here's my guide to Christmas decorations...

HOW TO MAKE A XMAS TREE BAUBLE:

Things you will need:

- cardboard
- scissors
- stanley knife
- net fabric
- pencil
- tub of astral moisturiser
- Coloured yarn

step 1: Get an astral tub and draw around it onto cardboard. Draw a smaller circle in the first. And cut both circles out. You will need to use a stanley knife to cut the circle in the middle
Note. If you don't have an astral container, use anything else with a circular shape that is around the same size

step 2: Repeat step 1 so you are left with two donut shaped circles made from cardboard

step 3: Cut the net fabric into strips

step 4: Place one cardboard donut on top of the other, and pull the strip of net through the hole in the middle. Bring the strip round the outside and back through the middle again, so you are wrapping the strip round the donut

step 5: Continue this action round the donut, until the strip is finished. Then start again with a new strip

step 6: Carry on in this way until the cardboard is fully covered and the hole in the middle is very small

step 7: Use a stanley knife to cut through the net and in between the two donuts. Cut all the way around the circle

step 8: Cut a piece of coloured string/yarn/ribbon, and pass it between the two donuts. Tie a knot

step 9: Remove the cardboard donuts by cutting them. Tie another knot in the yarn further up

step 10: Trim the edges to neaten up, and your done!

Tips

- wrap the net around tightly for best results
- cardboard donuts get tatty, so after about 3 baubles, you may need to replace them
